ISANATUR Presents UP4HEALTH bio ingredients applications at BeonNAT project Workshop
As the
coordinator of the UP4HEALTH project, ISANATUR proudly represented the
consortium at the recent BeonNAT workshop on High-Value Bioproducts from
Underutilised Biomass Resources and Bioresidues, hosted by IPB-CIMO.
ISANATUR
showcased the project’s innovative integrated
biorefinery located in Navarra. This cutting-edge solution transforms food
processing by-products, such as grape pomace, olive pomace, olive stones,
and nuts by-products into high-value, sustainable ingredients for the nutraceutical
and cosmetics industries.
Two key milestones
presented during the workshop highlighted UP4HEALTH’s impact:
- Prebiofenol+: ISANATUR-ECOPROLIVE has developed Prebiofenol+, a natural olive
extract with prebiotic properties with validated health benefits in human
health. ISANATUR healthier ingredients for the nutraceutical and cosmetics
sectors.
- Zero-Waste Extraction Plant: ISANATUR has established a
state-of-the-art, zero-waste extraction plant capable of processing natural
compounds through atomization, fermentation, centrifugation, and
supercritical fluid extraction with Food Grade standards. This facility
operates at scales from TRL4 to TRL8, with up to 5,000 liters of
input volume, enabling the transformation of food by-products such as grape
pomace, olive pomace, olive stones, and nut residues into sustainable,
high-value ingredients.
ISANATUR’s
presentation at the workshop highlighted these achievements, emphasizing the
project’s innovative integrated biorefinery and its alignment with
Europe’s vision for decarbonization, the circular economy, and a sustainable
bioeconomy.
The BeonNAT
workshop provided an excellent platform to connect with other leading
projects, including Sustainext, FIBSUN, MIDAS, and BeonNAT,
to explore innovative processes for converting biomass into fibers, biochemicals,
biochar, and other high-value bioproducts. This collaboration fosters
knowledge-sharing and strengthens efforts to unlock the potential of
underutilized biomass resources.
